the sky is falling

it is irresistible
to let the grey matter light up
when the sky is falling into shards
of silver-sighs and golden-rushes
to achieve something, to get there,
somewhere,

without the connivance of the mind’s vault,
where my sensibilities & sincere(&saturated)
goals are locked, as if in a fragile (no ex-
posure) condition
of a lifetime that isn’t passing by,

an unintended way to know what mind
creates and subsumes is to let it be,
building palaces and sculptures out
of ruin, birthing poems without labour,
or perchance (the sky is the colour
of an ink-stained favourite shirt)
it is all already fixed,

this gamble is a faux-irony of living,
i am measuring the length of my silken-
hair with dirt clinging to the strands
that are unwashed but tidy on a rainy
day, when the sky is falling,

and moss is growing through my hair
&beard (lichen, fungi, almond cyanide)
having left the matter to the falling
(fervently dancing, finessing,
fighting without fulfillment)
sky.

Twitter Haiku Collection

Here I am posting some of the haiku I have shared on twitter (@HowAnxious). I have arranged them in a way that you get to see a continuous slide of images:-

a bright sunflower

play of clouds and sun begins

touching the petals

 ~

sun burning orange

a dance with fiery dragon

evening flames of clouds

~

the sunbeam hours fold

blue-black-blue hues splashed across

fire coming to rest

~

thunderbolt of Zeus

a hapless beggar praying

monsoon shower starts

~

lightning strikes at night

silence abound everywhere

the devil’s treasure

.

Evening Rain Tan Renga

passing under the leafy willows

of a street of temples

an evening of rain

~

tiny drops tingle bare skin

child runs around in circles

* For Carpe Diem Tan Renga # 10.  The haiku is written by Shirao (1735-1792); complimenting it are my two verses of seven syllables each.

Ecstasy Haiku

ecstatic flowers

the green leaves swaying in trance

immersed in the rain

 ~

immersed in the rain

muddy puddles on the street

brighter everything

 ~

brighter everything

monsoon winds bring smile to lips

ecstatic boy runs

* For Carpe Diem # 252 Ecstasy.

Compassion Haiku

fluttering white wings

tears of love shed on the beings

a rain-angel smiles

a rain-angel smiles

compassion for the earthlings

makes everything right

 ~

makes everything right

colors splatter on the sky

happiness abounds

 ~

happiness abounds

her compassionate smiling

reverent heads bow

 ~

reverent heads bow

the love spreads its wings to fly

peace ensues around

 ~

peace ensues around

compassion for each other

a happy ending

*For Carpe Diem # 249 Compassion.

Cold Rain: Basho Inspired Creations

A cold rain starting

And no hat —

So?

~

drenching me throughout

a cold rain spattering down

clothes cling to body

~

tilted umbrella

drops soaking the plastic face

thunder up above

* The first haiku is written by Basho. And the other two are my own inspired creations.

Inspired Haiku

Kikusha Ni’s Creation:-

my body all alone

in this autumn I feel –

the dusk in rain

~

My inspired creations:-

alone in the field

I feel the feel of rain drops

stream of silent tears

~

at the edge of ship

glancing at shades of water

lone feeling of peace

P.s.- The two haiku I have created are very close to my heart. They are written in response to Carpe Diem Special 44.
